Does my project require Title 24 calculation?
In general, if your project requires a construction permit, Title 24 calculations will be required.
A title 24 report is required for any residential construction project that alters the existing envelope (walls, floors, roofs, windows, etc. ), adds/modifies mechanical/HVAC equipment, or adds/upgrades a water heater. A title 24 report is required for all new construction and addition projects. A title 24 report is required for any project that converts unconditioned space to conditioned space (such as converting a garage into a dwelling area). In the same way, as residential projects require title 24 reports, non-residential projects do as well. Non-residential projects, on the other hand, are required to submit a title 24 report if indoor or outdoor lighting is changed, amended, or upgraded.
