WHAT DOES A TITLE 24 REPORT DO?
California’s energy code is designed to reduce wasteful and unnecessary energy consumption in newly constructed and existing buildings. The California Energy Commission updates the Building Energy Efficiency Standards (Title 24, Parts 6 and 11) every three years by working with stakeholders in a public and transparent process.

To get construction permits, Title 24 envelope documentation must be presented when constructing a new commercial facility or extending to the conditioned floor space in an existing structure. If you're changing, adding, or replacing the HVAC system in a commercial structure, you'll also require a mechanical Title-24.
If you're changing the lighting system or adding new lighting fixtures, your building project must adhere to California Lighting Standards. Your energy calculation forms must reflect the steps you will take to preserve energy in the building, including proper use of light energy and other power-saving criteria, in order for your lighting Title 24 to be approved. Our consultants can conduct energy analyses and Title 24 calculations, as well as provide you with energy compliance reports and other required paperwork, such as envelope and mechanical load estimates.
What is the purpose of Title 24 reports? The Energy Efficiency Standards for Commercial & Nonresidential Buildings were established in 1978 to aid in the reduction of energy use in California. More current rules were introduced in 2008 to help lower the state's electricity use, and in July 2014, new and stronger restrictions went into effect to help California conserve even more energy.
